…failed at blogging about the trip….I’ll be home tomorrow lol! my bad :P
So yesterday we visited the Freedom Center in Cincinnati….awesome museum. This entire gallery was dedicated to the issues of current slavery such as child labor and sex trafficking. It was very powerful…almost made me ill reading some of the personal testimonies. There was also a very cool art/photography display about people who had been wrongfully convicted of crimes and later proven innocent….some very beautiful paintings of these people. The entire museum was very well constructed and well maintained…I was quite pleased with the whole experience :)
Hello Tumblr…long time no see :P Just thought I’d keep a blog of the history trip this year. We visited Harriet Beecher Stowe’s house in Cincinnati, Ohio today….except she was only in this house for about 3 years and probably only on the weekends sooooo…..yeah lol! And apparently she and her family were not involved in the underground railroad; they were merely anti-slavery advocates. Yay learning! :)
All places where women are excluded tend downward to barbarism; but the moment she is introduced, there come in with her courtesy, cleanliness, sobriety, and order.
